Resilient

Resilient flooring is designed to be extremely durable and, as the name implies, have some "give" or elasticity to it. In addition to being comfortable to stand on, resilient flooring is also known for being stain-resistant, scratch-resistant, and heat-resistant. Typically, the locations that benefit the most from a resilient floor installation are those with high traffic patterns or those subject to 'rough' traffic from items being dropped or spilled.

There are many types of flooring that qualifies as resilient, but the most common are vinyl, rubber, cork and linoleum, also known as 'lino' flooring.

  • VCT (Vinyl Composition Tile): Marked by quality, durability, value, and service, VCT has all the advantages of vinyl and the added convenience and flexibility of being able to remove and replace select tiles instead of the entire floor. Available in a wide range visuals from traffic-hiding, 'through-color' chips to distinctive, non-directional patterns.
  • Vinyl (Sheet): Versatility is the hallmark of vinyl sheet flooring offering a winning combination of resilience, aesthetics, durability, maintainability and value. Vinyl sheet is made from a mixture of polyvinyl chloride and plasticizer and is usually flexible and non-porous. Patterns and colors are integrated for area-to-area design flexibility and coordination. Select from homogeneous, heterogeneous and in-laid structures for various applications.
  • Rubber: Rubber flooring is a very durable product and offers added benefits of sound dampening while being comfortable to walk or work on. It also resists dents and stains and its waterproof surface has an anti-slip finish. Compared to other resilient flooring options rubber will generally carry a higher cost.
  • Cork: Is a natural product that comes from the bark of the Cork Oak, a species native to the area surrounding the Mediterranean Sea. Harvesting is safe, sustainable, and causes no harm to the tree itself since the product comes from the bark that naturally splits from the tree. Cork is naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to mold and mildew.
  • Linoleum: A high performing and easy-to-maintain product. It is made from renewable, natural raw materials including linseed oil, cork, limestone, wood flour, and tree resins. Since the coloration is not only applied to the surface it is also a very durable product.
