Recycling is one vital component of holistic sustainability. We aim to recycle as much as we can and help customers in reaching their objectives, such as the goal of Fort Lewis to reach "zero waste by 2020". Our partnership with Recovery 1 enables us to maximize the recyclability of waste associated with floor coverings. Recovery 1 streams CDL waste at a rate of 98% and various types of carpet are recycled using different means. Carpet with Type 6 nylon is regenerated 'cradle-to-cradle' back into new carpet fiber. Other types of carpet material are converted into new carpet backing, donated to habitat for Humanity, or sent to a waste processing facility to create an oil absorbency product.
